If you think Gaga or Ke$ha are annoying and fake…you’re in for a treat.

I met Natalia Cappuccini a few years ago at a private gig with my friend Christine*. My first reaction was complete irritation. The more time passed, the more I wanted to move to the other side of the room while this obviously British girl was trying to sound and act American. There’s nothing wrong with being American, but fakeness is just not okay. The level of pretentiousness she mastered is almost a sport. If you need evidence of this, look no further than her Twitter, a compilation of “deep” yet somehow meaningless, obscure quotes used to try and make her look like some kind of intellectual.

Now going by Natalia Kills, she signed to Cherry Tree (Gaga’s label). She is being pegged “the female Kanye” and I’d like to know what you guys think. I tried to approach this track with an unbiased mindframe, but this whole thing just isn’t working for me. The only comparison I can make with Kanye is a reliance on autotune and astounding arrogance (which, I mean, at least he has earned…what has she accomplished?) Who am I to judge though, she may well be the next big thing.
