its comforting to know that while people like drake are failing to live up to the hype surrounding them*, ellie goulding deserves everything thats happened so far in her career. tastemakers have been blogging about her for months, shes been touring incessantly, and the buzz surrounding her debut release ‘starry eyed’ which has been circulating around the net for ages led the BBC to name her #1 in their sound of 2010 list. she also won the brits critics choice award. ‘starry eyed’ was just released and hit #4 in the charts, and she now has the #1 album in the UK. she was recently on radio 1 live lounge performing a version with her producer Starsmith that confirms to me that she deserves all the hype shes been receiving. shes a good songwriter but above all she has a very unique voice in a time when her peers sound the same. check it:
