while the US is concerned about gun control, the UK has a problem of its own. knife culture is big there, with stabbings and attacks so common that police have set up random checkpoints on a daily basis to try and prevent these situations. last year, british MC Professor Green was a victim of a random club stabbing. although he’s been on his grind for years, and made a name for himself on a small scale, he became more known for the stabbing than for his music. tabloids like the sun even went to the hospital to interview him, giving him media coverage he was never exposed to before. Professor Greem has a lot of integrity and instead of using this publicity to further his career, he continued to try and get out there with his music instead of taking advantage of the disaster. now, with his first major label release (complete with INXS sample), i believe he’s going to really impact the charts and the UK industry in a big way. hes extremely talented lyrically and he’s been working at it for so long that it just seems natural, teamed with major label backing, that now is his time. check out I Need You Tonight:
